Fertilization : Soil fertility is closely monitored and corrected regularly. Micro and macro nutrients are fed twice during the growing season and are specifically formulated based on biannual soil test analysis.  During the summer, nitrogen is manually applied throughout the farm.           Insects/Disease: Pest control and fungal treatment efforts are applied in targeted situations when needed.  This is done to prevent killing of beneficial insects that aid in the overall health of the tree.  Pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control is applied on the tree rows to prevent advantageous roots from stealing energy of trees.  We apply the pre-emergent control twice in a season, and the post-emergent application two to three times throughout the season.  Deep Fork Tree Farm’s commitment to premium quality trees is demonstrated through the lengths by which we take to cultivate specimens, and this includes the attention to detail we demonstrate in the execution of chemical application.
