Golden Raintree

Form: Rounded outline with spreading and ascending branch habit.
Size: 30 to 40 feet tall with an equal to greater spread.
Zone: 5 to 8.
Leaves: Deciduous. Green changing to yellow in the fall.
Bark: Light gray-brown.
Fruit: Papery three-valved capsules.
Flowers: Yellow panicles 12 to 18 inches long and 6 inches wide.
Growth Rate: Medium to fast grower.
Description: Valued for its mid-summer flowers that occur up to 100 at a time in huge terminal panicles 12 to 15 inches long. Each flower develops into a three-sided papery capsule resembling a Chinese lantern. A great small lawn or park tree. Very adaptable to a wide range of soils and withstands drought, heat, wind and alkaline soils.
