Form: Pyramidal to oval headed in youth then becoming rounded at maturity.
Size: 30 to 40 feet tall and equally as wide.
Zone: 3 to 9.
Leaves: Deciduous. Glossy dark olive green leaves.
Bark: Exfoliating into papery sheets exposing inner bark which is gray-brown to salmon-brown.
Fruit: Small nutlet.
Flowers: Slender dark brown catkins.
Growth Rate: Medium to fast.
Description: Typically grown as a clump form tree, this improved variety has a very attractive exfoliating bark. The bark peels back in sheets to reveal colorful flakes of brown-salmon to peach-orange. Bred for drought tolerance and disease resistance.
